Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Cluster Prevention Officer role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: A Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, or Management.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the development sector, with a minimum of 3 years specifically focused on HIV/AIDS work, ideally in a supervisory role.
- Expertise: A strong understanding of issues related to high-risk populations such as Female Sex Workers, transgender, Injected Drug Users, Migrants, Truckers, and Prisoners.
Candidates should also have experience in designing and implementing targeted intervention strategies for these groups.
Desirable Qualifications
Additional Certification: A Post Graduate Diploma in HIV/AIDS or a fellowship in HIV/AIDS from a government-recognized institution.
Key Skills and Competencies
1. Familiarity with Public Health Systems: Knowledge of state and local public health systems and the functioning of State AIDS Control Societies is crucial.
2. Communication Skills: Proficiency in local languages and English (both speaking and writing) is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
3. Computer Proficiency: Candidates should be comfortable using computer applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
4. Analytical and Negotiation Skills: Strong analytical abilities and negotiation skills are necessary.
5. Travel Requirements: The role requires extensive travel.

Selection Process
- Shortlisting: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test and/or a viva voce interview.
- Publication of Shortlisted Candidates: The list of shortlisted candidates will be published on the ASACS website (asacs.assam.gov.in) at least 10 days before the written test and interview.
- Document Verification: Candidates will need to produce original testimonials, including age proof, educational qualifications, experience certificates, and computer proficiency certificates during the interview. A set of self-attested photocopies of these documents must also be submitted.
