Eligibility:
MASLSA is seeking dedicated individuals to join its team for the following positions:
Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel
- Total Positions: 2
- Monthly Honorarium: Rs. 55,000/-
- Qualifications: Degree in Law with at least 7 years of practice in Criminal law, proficiency in Manipuri language, and equipped with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Responsibilities: Conducting trials, appeals, bail applications, legal research, and mentoring Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel.
Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel
- Total Positions: 4
- Monthly Honorarium: Rs. 30,000/-
- Qualifications: Degree in Law with 0-3 years of practice in Criminal law, proficiency in Manipuri language, and possessing excellent communication and research skills.
- Responsibilities: Filing cases, conducting trials, legal research, assisting in defense strategy development, and providing support in various legal aid activities.

Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format along with the requisite documents and examination fee between 15th July 2024 to 31st July 2024.
Selection Criteria
Candidates will be selected based on a written examination and a personal interview. The written exam will assess knowledge of law, including multiple-choice questions and drafting exercises, contributing 60% to the final score. The interview will contribute 40% to the final score, with only the top candidates proceeding to this stage.
