Eligibility Criteria for MCP Recruitment
1. Nationality and Residence:
Candidates must be Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam. Upon selection, candidates will need to provide proof of residence after the final selection list is published.
2. Age Limit:
Applicants should be between 18 and 25 years old as of January 1, 2024. Age relaxation norms, if applicable, will be as per government regulations.
3. Educational Qualification:
Candidates must have completed their Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) or an equivalent examination from a recognized institution.
Physical Standards:
Physical standards are mandatory for both male and female candidates. The specifics are as follows:
1. For Male Candidates:
- Minimum Height: 162.56 cm (5’3″)
- Chest Measurement (Normal): 80 cm (31.5″)
2. For Female Candidates:
- Minimum Height: 154.94 cm (5’1″)
Selection Procedure
The selection process for the MCP positions involves several stages:
1. Preliminary Document Verification:
Candidates must provide all original documents along with a set of photocopies for verification. Only those whose documents are found correct will proceed to the next stage.
2. Written Test:
A written test will be conducted to evaluate the candidates’ knowledge and skills. The syllabus for the written test will be published on the GMC official website.
3. Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
- PST: Candidates will be assessed on physical attributes like height, weight, and chest measurement. This stage is a preliminary check and carries no marks. Medical officers will also check for any physical deformities.
- PET: The physical efficiency test assesses the physical fitness of candidates. It will carry a maximum of 40 marks.
4. Personality Test/Viva Voce:
Shortlisted candidates from the written test and physical tests will be called for a personality test/viva voce, which will carry a maximum of 5 marks.
