Key Responsibilities

As a JRF, you will be involved in:

  1. GIS and Remote Sensing Analysis: Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing technologies to analyze land use and land cover (LULC) patterns and their relationship with climate change.
  2. Impact Analysis: Assess the impact of extreme climate events and propose measures for mitigation and adaptation.
  3. Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and evaluate the effects of climate change on various LULC classes, and document project outcomes and insights.
  4. Software Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing techniques for spatial analysis and mapping.
  5. Programming Knowledge: Knowledge of programming languages (Python/JavaScript/R) and Google Earth Engine is desirable.

Essential Qualifications

  • Educational Background: B.S. (4-year program)/Integrated BS-MS/MSc/BE/BTech or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks.
    NET/GATE Qualification: Must have passed the NET/GATE test in relevant fields such as Physics, Geomatics Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Geophysics, Earth Science, or Atmospheric Physics.
  • Age Limit: Up to 28 years (age relaxation of up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC, women, and physically handicapped candidates).
