Nit Meghalaya 2024 Eligibility:
- Applicants must possess a substantial amount of experience, with a minimum requirement of 15 years in technical, managerial, or professional roles.
- Additionally, candidates should hold either a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, design, or medicine, or a master’s degree in sciences, humanities, management, education, law, or related disciplines. While a Ph.D. is preferred, it is not mandatory.
- Depending on the candidate’s years of experience, they may be considered for positions as Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor of Practice. Retired individuals from industry or research and development organizations will also be evaluated for these roles.
- However, it’s important to note that Professor of Practice positions are not available to those currently employed in teaching positions.
Nit Meghalaya 2024 Selection Process:
- All appointments to these positions will be made by the Director following the recommendations of the duly constituted screening cum selection committee.
- It’s important to note that all positions are short-term contract roles, initially for one year, with the possibility of extension for up to three years or until the individual reaches the age of 70, whichever comes first. Extensions will be contingent upon performance and subject to the recommendation of the committee.
- Individuals from various fields including science, engineering, medicine, civil service, technology, finance, entrepreneurship, architecture, management, media, literature, fine arts, law, public administration, armed forces, design, and other professions, who meet the eligibility criteria mentioned earlier, may be considered for these faculty positions.
- It’s essential to understand that individuals appointed as Professors of Practice will not have any entitlement to regular appointment or continuation of their post at NIT Meghalaya beyond the specified terms. The Director also retains the authority to terminate positions under exceptional circumstances at any stage.
